F. A. T. H. E. R… Father
One word that rhymes with so many but PEACE.
Ask any 10-year-old what ‘FATHER’ means
And you’ll hear words like:
Tyrant, oppressor, autocrat, Hitler, Stalin, dictator.
I’m a couple of decades older,
But my definition of FATHER hasn’t changed.
Fathers are tough unforgiving slave masters,
They drive us nuts with those leather belts.
Fathers love the Bible,
They meditate on Proverbs 13:24 day and night….
Sometimes at noon.
Fathers believe in us,
They beat us when we fail,
And forget the praise when we win.
Fathers are good at math,
But most of them have still not figured that 10 plus 8 equals ‘Adult’.
Fathers own everything,
Even our future belongs to them.
Fathers are tyrants
But they raise us better.
