Afraid of who I am, and what I could be.
Afraid of my own tendencies, and the demons inside.
Afraid of my own voice, and the silence in the noise.
I’m afraid…
Afraid to die, but scared to live.
Afraid of the future, but holding on till tomorrow.
Afraid to dream, but something burns within.
I’m afraid…
Afraid to love, although it’s right within reach.
Afraid to trust, although I must.
Afraid to give it all, although they deserve it.
I’m afraid…
Afraid of not being enough, so I hide in the shadows.
Afraid of disappointing those I love, so I never let them see through me.
Afraid of never making that impact, so I stop trying.
I’m afraid…
Afraid of FEAR, because it’s always here.
But no matter how strong the fear, I will never let it ruin my years.
I will make cheer and let the world know I’m here.
